Christine Van Loo has devoted her life to merging art with athleticism, first as an acro-gymnast and later as an aerialist. She began training at age eight and to this day remains the only acro-gymnast to win 7 consecutive National Championships. She was also the first American to medal at World Cup, which she did at age fourteen. She represented the US in World Cup and World Championships every year until she retired competitively at nineteen. Selected Olympic Female Athlete of the Year and Athlete of the Decade, she was inducted into U.S.A. Gymnastics Hall of Fame and the World Acrobatics Society Gallery of Honor and is considered a Legend in her sport. She has been featured on ESPN’s World Class Women and she appeared on the cover of International Gymnast Magazine and in National Geographic World Magazine and Time Life books.
Christine went from competition to becoming one of the most successful and accomplished aerialists in the world. She has opened solo for Paul McCartney before 100,000 people, performed at the 2002 Olympics, two Grammy Awards (w/ No Doubt and with Ricky Martin), the American Music Awards (w/ Aerosmith), the Miss Universe Pageant, as well as several feature films, television shows and music videos. For Cirque du Soleil she performed her aerial act 80 feet off a nine story building from a hot air balloon. She also performed off a hot air balloon with Sarah Mc Lachlan and Josh Grobansinging live. She has performed everywhere from the Sydney Opera House to Madison Square Garden to the Kennedy Center. Currently she is on tour with Cirque de la Symphony.

At just 16 Fuji Film and the Japanese Gymnastics Federation began flying her to Japan every year to initiate acro-gymnastics programs in Japan via exhibitions, clinics, and the creation of instructional books and DVDs. Since then she has played the role of a gymnastics and acrobatics coach, choreographer and director from beginner to elite level, as well as training world champion competitive theatrical dance pairs and choreographing for such shows as Britney Spears World Tour and the Stars on Ice US Tour. She appeared in NBC’s Celebrity Circus as a trainer and performer.
She is producer of Secrets of the Circus instructional DVDs. She has taught masterclasses and
retreats in Australia, Japan, Costa Rica, Canada, and the US.
She and her husband Jonathon Conant recently opened Airborne Arts, an aerial retreat center in Costa Rica, where they look forward to sharing their experience.

Christine and her husband Jonathon Conant, former owner and founder of Trapeze School New York, are opening Airborne Arts in Costa Rica where they will host retreats in aerial artistry, acrobatics, flying trapeze yoga and more. Imagine flying out over a verdant valley overlooking a 900-foot waterfall. Enjoy spectacular views of green mountainous jungle with the Manuel Antonio beach in the distance. Christine and her husband Jonathon Conant, co-founder of Trapeze School New York and a brilliant singer song-writer (see www.jonathonconant.com) live in Costa Rica where they are opening Airborne Arts, a retreat center for flying trapeze, aerial arts, yoga and more. Christine is fluent in Italian and Spanish and conversational in French. She continues to travel extensively with her various interests, having visited over 70 countries. She lived in Italy, the Yucatan and several places in the US.
